We are often asked, "Can't I just make
a slideshow video myself?" Well, of course. If you want
to try doing it, we won't discourage you. However, one of our favorite
mantras is "Skill, education, and experience are three requirements
that can't be bought." These are three necessary prerequisites
to a well-done slideshow.
Look at it this way: if you had enough wood, you could
probably build a chair. But would your chair have enough strength
to hold a person? Would the wood be finished and smooth? Would
the chair look like a chair that you'd buy in a furniture
store? Probably not. And just like building a chair, anyone can
create a slideshow with a picture on video with
MP3s. But for a professional DVD photo slideshow, you need a company
with the correct equipment and expertise. |

There are hundred of programs that can create a basic slideshow.
These types of software, including iPhoto, PowerPoint, and the
many Windows slideshow programs, allow anyone to create a
ordinary photo video.
However, using consumer software does not allow for the customization
or editing a truly well-done slideshow requires.
This is why professionals do not use just one program
to create a slideshow. At Timeless DVD, we have
invested thousands of dollars in software
such as Final Cut Studio, Adobe DVD Encore, and Photodex Producer,
because each program possesses individual strengths. When we
combine the photo
correction available in Photoshop with the audio editing
power of Apple's Soundtrack Pro, we are able to create a professional-quality
photo slide
show that is visually and aurally appealing.
And don't forget, additional equipment and supplies are also
required. At the very least, you will
need a flatbed photo scanner, DVD burner, and VCR (for
video clips). To create packaging, you will also need high-quality
discs, printable DVD covers, DVD cases, a prosumer inkjet
printer, and a dedicated disc printer. Producing a good slideshow
on DVD can quickly become very expensive!
