Collect and organize your videotapes.
A Timeless DVD can hold up to 2 hours of video.
We can transfer video to DVD from the following
formats: VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Betamax, Video8,
Hi8, Digital8, MiniDV, DV, DVCam, and MiniDVD.
If your first videotape is longer
than 2 hours, you will need to include the "Overflow
DVD disc" option on your order form. An additional
disc is $20 and a double DVD case will be provided
free of charge.
If your first videotape is shorter than 2 hours,
you can add video from additional tapes to the
DVD. A $10 fee applies for each additional tape
beyond the first. For additional tapes, please
number the them in the sequence you wish them
to appear on the DVD. To do this, apply
stickies or labels to the videotape case, or
write on the case itself. The numbered order
can then be marked on your order form as well.
Please indicate on your order form the approximate
running time for the video on each tape. Mark "unknown" if
you cannot view the tape ahead of time.
Is there a section of video you'd like to exclude
from the finished DVD? If so, just mark the "start" and "stop" times
for the section you want to transfer.
To do this, rewind your tape to the beginning,
reset the counter to 0:00, and then find the
start and stop times for the section you want
to keep. If doing this isn't possible, you can
also just make a simple notation on your order
form, such as "do
not include video of baby in bathtub at the end
of the tape."
Additional tips:
- Send the most original copy of your video possible
(no dubbed tapes!). Using the master tape will
result in the best-quality DVD.
- Rewind your tape before sending (if possible).
- If a tape has a known defect, such as a snowy picture in the first few minutes, please let us know ahead of time so we can use the best transfer setup with our equipment.
- Do not send broken
tapes. We cannot fix them, and will just return
them.

Scene
Selections menu
and Chapters
|
|
Your DVD includes
automatic chapter stops every five
minutes during the video.
Adding a Scene Selections menu is
$20 and features full-motion video
buttons showing chapters that you
select. Eight chapter stops of your
choice are included. Additional chapter
stops can be added for only $2 each.
Indicate your preferred chapter
stops on your order form by marking
the time at which they occur on the
tape. To do this, rewind your tape
to the beginning, reset the counter
to 0:00, then find the times for
the chapter stops.
You may also write brief captions
for your chapters, which will appear
next to the buttons on the menu. |

Song for
Main Menu,
Copies, Other Options
|
|
You may add a song
to the Main Menu for $5. Simply indicate
this preference on the order form and
don't forget to provide a CD with the
song.
Would family members enjoy having
a copy of your DVD? Copies are available
for only $12, and ordering 10 or more
copies entails even further discounts.
All copies are absolutely identical
to the original in every way.
Other special options are available
as well, such as specialized video
editing; a "First Play" video clip
(a short video that plays before the
main menu); or additional menu screens,
such as biography text screens for
the bride and groom. Please ask us
to customize your price before ordering
if you are interested in these creative
special options. |
|
|
| |
 |
Title Screens.
Title screens can be added at any point
in your video. They are usually used to
describe or introduce new video content.
We present titles as easy-to-read white
text on a black background. Write your
titles on your order form, and indicate
the times on the video at which they should
appear OR a brief description of the video
that follows each title. |

Music Editing Orders: Select your music
Our special service, Video Transfer
– Music Editing, allows you to set music
of your choice to silent film that you
already have transferred to videotape
or DVD. If you are ordering this service,
now is the time to choose your songs.
The
right music sets the mood, holds the
audience's attention, and produces laughter
and tears. What music best accompanies
your film? A good place to start is by
including the favorite songs of the people
who are in the film. So, for video showing
aunt Carol's wedding in 1962, what were
her favorite songs? What song did she
and her husband dance to at their reception?
Using meaningful songs is key to a memorable
show.
A second method is to choose music that
matches each section of film's time
period. For example, for film shot
in the 1940s, look into swing and big band
music. For film from the 1960s, a wide
range of popular rock music exists.
For more information on choosing music,
see our Photo
Slideshows – Song Suggestions page.
There are two ways for us to set music
to your film. First, you can specify
songs to go with individual sections.
For example, let's say your video has
four main sections of film. You could
specify songs to go with each section,
and we will custom-edit them to fit:
1. Trip to beach: "Under the Boardwalk"
2. Carol's wedding: "My Special Angel"
3. Vacation out west: "Route 66" and "Over the Rainbow"
4. Maryann's wedding: "Evergreen"
The second option is for you to give us
a list of songs that you want in the
video. This works best if you're not interested
in tying a specific song to a specific
section. In this case, we will simply run
the songs in order and make minor edits
to fit the flow of the film.
For both methods, please ensure that you
are providing approximately enough minutes
of music to cover the length of your video.
To provide music, please send us the
original CD or a burned CD. If there is
a song you can't find, we can use
a legal download service such as iTunes
to purchase it on your behalf. Please
note that to avoid any potential copyright
issues, we can only provide this service
for 1–2 songs. We encourage you to
provide your own music, since that way
you can guarantee that each song is exactly
the version you want. All CDs are returned
to you when your DVD is finished. |

Select
a Theme for your DVD.
Every Timeless DVD includes a selection
of one of our Themes. Each Theme includes
a Main Menu, full-color DVD cover, and
disc design. If you are adding a Scene
Selections menu, that is also included
in the Theme.
Most Themes include a photo of your
choice, which appears on the menu, cover,
and disc. We can also use a still capture
from your video for this purpose, although
we discourage this because the printed
quality on the cover and disc will be
very poor. We also offer Text
Only Themes for
customers who prefer to not use a photo.
Browse through our Themes Gallery, or request a copy of our printed Themes Catalog. If you're unsure about selecting a Theme, you may check the box on the form asking us to select the Theme that best complements your project and/or photo.
Consider what photo you want to use for
the cover. Our Themes are organized by
general photo shape. Choose a photo that
is clear and indicative of your DVD's content.
(When we begin constructing your DVD, we
may contact you if your photo shape does
not work with the Theme you have selected.)
On the order form, you may also indicate
which of our 16 DVD case colors and styles
you wish to order. Available cases are
shown on our Themes
Gallery page. Most customers prefer a
black case, which looks great with most projects,
and if this is what you prefer, you may leave
this line blank. However, if planned properly
with the Theme, a color case can look very
distinctive.
Finally, you may also indicate on your
order form any color preferences you have
for your Theme design. We adjust most Themes
to match the colors in your photo, but
this option is helpful for certain occasions,
such as a DVD video transfer for a team
that has specific colors or for a video transfer
of a wedding featuring a certain color
palette. |

Write
a title for your DVD.
A title of your choice appears on the
Main Menu, DVD cover, and disc. Your title
can be two lines of text. Most customers
prefer to have a main headline title and
a smaller subhead, which is frequently
a date. A sample title is shown at the
left. |

Fill
out the DVD Video Transfer Order Form.
Indicate all your instructions for your
DVD on our easy ordering form, including
start and stop times, chapters, and copies.
The order form is available at the top
of this page as a downloadable PDF. Just
contact us if you would like us to mail
a printed copy to you instead.
If you run out of room on the order
form for any item, simply use additional
paper.
Don't forget to indicate the make and
model of your DVD player on your order
form! We research your DVD player before
completing your project to make sure
the DVD will play correctly for you.
This is an extra measure of service that
few other DVD services provide, but we
think it is essential to avoiding any
potential problems.
If you need us to transfer any material
that is copyrighted, you MUST include
a completed and signed Timeless DVD Copyright
Waiver with your order. Click here to
download a PDF of the copyright waiver
form.
If you have any questions, please visit
our General FAQ
or
Video Transfer
FAQ (for specific questions about video
transfer). And don't hesitate to contact
us if you have unanswered questions. We're
happy to help! If you are confused by anything
on the order form, feel free to write out
your instructions in a way that makes sense
to you on a piece of paper. If we have
questions, we'll ask. |

Payment Information
Please include full payment with your
order. All orders must be paid for in
full before DVD production can begin.
We accept personal checks, major credit
cards, and PayPal. Make checks payable
to "Timeless
DVD." For credit cards, we accept
MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American
Express.
You may also use PayPal. Mark this as
your preferred payment choice on your order
form, and include the e-mail address that
PayPal has on file for your account. We
will e-mail a PayPal request to you for
the total amount when we receive your order.
Please note that you must complete your
payment through PayPal before we can begin
work on your DVD.
If you're not sure what your project would
cost (for instance, because you don't know
how long your tapes are), you may go ahead
and send your tapes and order form without
payment. We will figure out your cost and
send an invoice to you. You can then pay
the invoice and we will begin your project
at that point. |

Mail
your order to us!
Please include your videotape(s), photo
(if needed for Theme), order form, and
payment, and use the mailing address
that's on the bottom of the order form.
Make sure to pack your videotapes as
carefully as possible to avoid any damage
during shipping. For safe shipping, we
recommend first placing your tapes in
a Ziploc plastic bag to seal out moisture.
Then, wrap your tapes with bubble wrap
before putting them in your envelope
or box. If bubble wrap is not an option,
make sure to use a padded, reinforced
envelope or sturdy box. These steps all
add an extra buffer of protection.
In addition, we strongly recommend sending your package via a trackable shipping carrier such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS with tracking service. We have never lost a package using these services!
We realize that most tapes sent to us are irreplaceable and we handle your materials with the highest attention and care. However, we cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs during the shipping process. This is why we encourage you to pack your tapes correctly and send them via trackable shipping. We will do the same when we send your completed project back to you.
If you live in the suburban Philadelphia
area, you also have the option of requesting
pickup or dropoff service. This service
includes Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware,
Chester, and parts of Philadelphia county.
Because of traffic and parking costs, we
are not able to offer this service in Center
City Philadelphia, but we will meet you
at a location between the city
and Lansdale.
A third option is for you
to drop off your order at
our Lansdale, PA studio. Please note that
this is only offered as a final option.
Available times for meeting in our studio
are extremely limited, so it may be a week
or more before we can set up an appointment
for you. For that reason, we urge you to
either mail your project or request our
local pickup service instead. |

Our
turn!
If you wish, you can e-mail or call
us after you've mailed your order so
we know to watch for it. In any case,
we'll e-mail or call to let you know
that your materials were received. Then
we'll transfer video to DVD from
your tapes. If your order form raises
a question, we'll be back in touch.
Turnaround averages about 1–2 weeks
for a DVD video transfer.
If your order
requires a specific due date or you need
your project to be completed in less than
1 week (a rush order), please contact
us before sending your order. We only guarantee
a desired due date if we have confirmed
to you that your project will
fit into our production schedule (prior to
project submission). |

All finished!
We'll mail your Timeless DVD and all original materials back to you! We pack orders carefully with bubble wrap and use a trackable carrier for the most safe shipping possible. southeastern Pennsylvania, we can arrange
delivery options. We offer free

general area.
Then . . . enjoy the show! And don't forget, your satisfaction is guaranteed. If there is a problem with your transfer, please let us know as soon as you can. We will make every reasonable effort to solve the issue for you.

even send DVD copies directly to relatives'
and friends' addresses to save you both
time and postage! |
