"Cheapo Video only charges $10 to transfer a videotape!
Why should I choose Timeless DVD?"

Prices for videotape transfer vary widely, from dirt-cheap conversion to high-quality encoding. Timeless DVD is neither the cheapest or the most expensive, but like many video companies, we frequently hear about services that charge rock-bottom prices for transfer.

So first, we ask you: Are your family videotapes really only worth $10?

If your answer is "yes," we encourage you to stop reading now and just use one of those cheap companies. We've found that Timeless DVD's customers value their videotapes, as well as our hard work and efforts to transfer tapes to the best of our ability. Our customers would rather that the job be done "right" than done cheaply. Do you fit into this category?

To help you decide if Timeless DVD is right for you, here is a a list of features we offer with our transfers – that many cheap companies will not.

1. Combining multiple tapes to one DVD. Timeless DVD will combine as many tapes as you like to a single DVD, as long as the running time does not exceed 2 hours. In that way, we can provide the best price for you and the fewest number of DVDs. Many cheaper services will only transfer "one tape to one DVD" and will not combine tapes, even as an option.

2. Special video hardware to improve the quality of your tape. We use a variety of hardware, including a time-base corrector, processing amplifier, detailer, and carefully chosen video decks. In this way, we are able to transfer your tape accurately, and often improve it. Most inexpensive services have not invested in this type of professional equipment or possess the right skills, and thus do not mention it on their websites. Some even flatly state that they do not do any processing to improve a tape.

3. Monitoring of your tape to ensure quality control of the transfer. Timeless DVD monitors your tape as it transfers to ensure that everything is going smoothly. If your tape encounters a problem, we can stop the transfer and clean the deck, or fix the color, or do whatever adjustment is required. By contrast, most cheap services operate entirely on "autopilot." They set a tape to transfer and let it run without paying attention to it. (Yes, this is how they can keep their prices so low!) If you are concerned about the quality of your transferred tape, check to see if a transfer company's process is automated or not.

4. 100% free estimates for large boxes of tapes! Let's say you have a box of videotapes that you want to be transferred to DVD. But you don't know what's on the tapes, how long they are, or how to do an order form for so many tapes. We can help! Simply give us your box, no payment required. We will scan through your tapes, assess each tape's length, and provide an estimate. Our estimate will include our recommendation on how we can combine your tapes onto DVDs for the best price, keeping in mind the logical content of the tapes. You can then pay the estimate and we will begin the transfers, or you can ask to have your tapes returned. Cheap transfer services simply do not offer this kind of customer service!

5. Editing out "dead" space on the video. Timeless DVD removes as much of the dead static and blue screen as possible from your tape without harming your content. This creates a smoother DVD viewing experience. Many cheap services may not take the time to do this, and will just run your tape straight to DVD.

6. Chapter customization. Timeless DVD offers a scene selection menu and custom chapter option. If you choose to add this option to your DVD, we will create a beautiful scenes menu for you and place chapters where you wish in your video content. Inexpensive services almost never offer this level of customization.

7. All transfers done in our studio in Lansdale, PA. Timeless DVD only works on premises. Your tapes are never outsourced anywhere. Many inexpensive transfer companies, particularly large ones, are evasive on this issue, and for good reason: they frequently send tapes abroad to be transferred. This is how they can keep their prices so low. But what happens if your tape is lost or damaged in this process? We would rather take good care of your tapes and charge a slightly higher price, and many of our customers feel the same way.

8. Customized, color packaging with real DVD case. Timeless DVD always provides a full-color cover, full-color printed disc, and professional-grade Amaray DVD case with every order. We even print a photo of your choice on the cover and disc for no extra charge, and your choice of one of our design Themes is always included. Packaging varies widely among cheaper companies, but many do not provide any printing beyond a basic title printed on a DVD. Packaging is usually a paper/cardboard sleeve for the disc, or a cheap CD jewel case. And the ones that do offer real DVD cases and a printed cover usually do not customize the cover in any personalized way.

9. Copies available indefinitely. Timeless DVD archives a copy of your DVD, so that you can order additional copies for your family and friends at any time in the future. Most cheaper services will only keep your DVD on hand for about 30 days, and some do not keep anything after the order is completed. These practices are not very useful when Christmas comes and you would like to have copies to give as gifts! With us, you can always order additional copies.

10. Pickup and dropoff. Timeless DVD provides free pickup and dropoff in the Philadelphia suburbs, in addition to mail services. Many of the larger Internet companies that provide cheap transfer require that you mail your tapes, and do not offer any kind of personal pickup/dropoff.

These reasons are why Timeless DVD offers a superior service to the dirt-cheap $10 transfers. There are very few DVD transfer services that charge a $10 transfer rate. Most of the bargain-basement transfer companies are actually higher than this rate.

So when deciding if one of those discount companies is right for you, please consider our benefits. Is it worth it to your family videotape to add features like careful quality control, long-lasting customized packaging, and special hardware processing to achieve the best transfer possible? (Not to mention conveniences like local customer service and being able to order copies at any time?) If so, then we'd love to work with you!
